The SOLIVEO project is managed by Professor Mehmet Fatih Aysan, a faculty member of Sociology Department at Marmara University. Professor Aysan is also the director of the Population and Social Policies Research Centre. He brings extensive expertise in sustainability, demography, ageing, sociology of family, sociology of work, and social policy. His role is central to driving the project's mission to blend traditional and modern agricultural practices in sustainable olive oil production. With his background in social and economic policy, Aysan ensures that the project aligns with broader socio-environmental goals, promoting community resilience and sustainable practices.
Ümmügülsüm Aysan
Researcher
Associate Professor Ümmügülsüm Aysan, a faculty member of the University of Health Sciences, Department of Social Work, contributes her expertise in social work, social policy, sustainability, ageing, and life satisfaction. She plays a key role in integrating gender and social equity considerations into the project, particularly focusing on the empowerment of women and young farmers. Her research in social policy and gender ensures that the project’s outcomes contribute to reducing socio-economic inequalities, while fostering sustainable community development.
Merve Taşcıoğulları
Researcher
Merve Taşcıoğulları is also a researcher at Marmara University Population and Social Policies Application and Research Centre, specialising in sociology of work, social policies, sustainability and youth work. Her work is vital to ensuring that the project not only promotes sustainable agricultural practices but also addresses the needs and challenges of young farmers in the region. She is actively involved in all phases of the project’s activities, contributing her insights and skills to support both its strategic goals and its practical outcomes.
Together, this interdisciplinary team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the SOLIVEO project, ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to sustainable agriculture and community empowerment.
